What it lists
Every planning appeal and householder appeal the Planning Inspectorate's casework database records as decided 1 September 2021 to 28 August 2026, allowed, split, or dismissed, for the planning authorities here: 71,016 appeals. Planning appeals include those decided through its Commercial Appeals Service, for minor commercial applications. The map shows where they are, by the postcode in each site address; clicking a council opens its page, which lists all its appeals with a heatmap of where they are. A search lists every appeal in the postcode's district (TQ7 for TQ7 4EL), newest first, with any at the exact postcode first, and marks the district's appeal postcodes on the council's map, each at the point the ONS Postcode Directory gives as its centre. A search by appeal number, the seven digits that end a reference such as APP/K1128/W/25/3345678, finds that appeal. The filters' decision groups are the tracker's own: allowed is the database's "Allowed"; split decision is the database's "Split Decision"; dismissed is the database's "Dismissed". Each decision links to the case on the Planning Inspectorate's site.
Most postcodes have no appeal: about 59,525 of England's postcodes appear in the five years. 336 appeals have no postcode in their site address, so a search cannot find them; they are listed on their council's page. Enforcement and other casework are not included, nor appeals withdrawn, invalid, or turned away. No appellant, agent, or inspector names are kept.
